Taking the best of both worlds, Jean Paul Van Swae grew up splitting time between the Big Island and San Juan Capistrano. Grandson of the legendary Loren "Whitey" Harrison, the sea runs thick through his veins. He got his start in surf photography working in Art Brewer's studio. He then picked up a gig as assistant photo editor at Surfer Magazine, where he still works today. When he doesn't have a lens stuck to his face you can find him cruising down at San Onofre with his family or battling for waves at Trestles. - Jake Howard |
